I'm not commenting because the only way I can hear them is by downloading and I don't want to, not just yours but anybody's. It would be better to use Soundcloud (it's free and painless) where you allow access to folks to go and listen without downloading, you are given an opportunity to share the link, I'd happily take part then. Apart from the downloading issues, some of the tracks won't download anyway onto my iPad, Kon Tiki being the first I tried.

I'm also not in a position to comment. The 'problem' is that some echo units are so close in sound that it would not be fair to gamble on them exposing a winner and as a consequent a second winner.

I don't like sites like Soundcloud because there's always the risk of a virus contamination. When you listen "without downloading" you actually DO download the file - you just don't save it.

You can do the same here if you wish by double clicking the file and telling your machine what you want to play it with. Here, I know my file is relatively safe and I can provide a direct link thus...

Kon Tiki will download to your Apple but it won't play because Apple won't support Microsoft format files...

And, of course, Piet is right... and so is Robbo in postings elsewhere...

If it sounds right to you, then it is right. And if you need a forensic analysis on a scope to determine what it is and if it's authentic, then somehow the music got lost in the technology...

I posted these because to my damaged ears, they sound right. But I'm always interested in what other people think...

I'll tell you about the hardware in due course if you are interested...

Maybe the point here is that nobody in this world could walk into place where a band is playing and tell what echo machine is being used without knowing what is being used first !...............Do you ever say " That paint on that guitar must be really thick sounding like that".............Or "That guitar is a good weight making it sound like that"........Most of the stuff written or spoken about guitar sound would not stand up in a experiment with all types of standard guitars played.....And I have said many time to others when chatting about this, when playing at home it may sound great to your ears, but when played in a environment with loads of people and a huge area for the sound to move all over the place it changes beyond belief..........Oh yeah, forgot to mention the fingers of the player !!

That version of Kon-Tiki is as close as anyone's going to get it. I've no idea what equipment was used but the performance really worked.

Ok...KonTiki first...

Mr Robinson is right! It's the "Oasis" CRS '59 Strat, recorded through a four head ESE Echomatic, in Mr Robinson's own studio with him engineering and setting up the echoes... The backing track is The Shadows minus Hank... And I think we used a Vox...

As with each of these files, I'm happy with it... Just feels right!

(And now you have three different performances of the same tune on the site, each with a different echo... How do they compare?)

I remember it well David, we used my ESE Echomatic through a Vox AC30 with Roger's Vintage unit. It's a great sound and I still have that kit, though I did consider selling it at one time. For me Charlie has added some 'grit' that I like in the Hall & Collins but many I fear will not hear what I mean. As long as it pleases me though, that's all that matters and the fact that it's helping me recover. I would add that the sound of the eTap2hw is also excellent, as Bojan showed us.
