Somewhere Video. New Guitar, New Pickups.

Postby Phil McGarrick » 07 Feb 2014, 11:23

I bought a Custom shop Fender 56NOS (New old stock) and fitted a set of the latest Kinman Impersonator 54 V3 pickups with Kinman's K7 solderless Harness. (includes the pots,5 way switch,Jack socket etc) All pre wired and very easy to fit.

These are newly designed pickups and are dated Jan 2014.
I am very impressed with these pickups and the K7 harness offers many pickup combinations which are not possible with standard wiring.
For this song I used the Bridge/Neck combination which gives a tone like a Telecaster on the mid position.

Hope you like this classic song "Somewhere" I have the Shadows version on a CD "Everything of value Rarities 2" - I even got Bruce Welch to sign the album cover !
The Backing track came from UB Hank Vol 2 available from Leo's Den. http://www.leosden.co.uk/shop/search.ph ... rch=Search

Hi Phil
That sounds really good.
Clear, sweet sounding pickups. I have the neck+bridge on my Brason. Its a superb sound.
Well played too. Very early Hank style.
Smashin'!
Cheers

Thank you Steve and Ian for your nice comments. Glad you both like it.

Ian you must have push pull tone pots on your Brason like I have I think mine puts the pickups out of phase
I'll have to do some testing and prove it.
Glad you like sound of my new ones.

All the best... Phil

Thank you Fred, Ecca and Alan or your replies, Much appreciated.
Interesting that Hank used very little echo on the original recording.

Kind regards... Phil
