Samovar - the Krew Kats

Postby rogera » 16 Oct 2013, 15:05

The Krew Kats made only a few instrumental recordings but they were terrific.
The combination of 'Big' Jim Sullivan, Brian Bennett, Brian 'Licorice' Locking, and Tony Belcher created some unique and exciting sounds.

A big contributor to Big Jim's lead sound was his use of the DeArmond 610 volume/tone pedal and I've used one here to try to get close to the original.

Guitar used is a DeArmond Starfire.

I've enjoyed making the recording and I very much hope that you enjoy listening.

Very nice Roger, what's the main differences between the Starfire and T400?

Thanks for the replies.

Alan the Starfire has two hunbuckers and a centre block through the body.
I used it because it was the closest guitar that I have to the Gibson played by Big Jim.
