Peter Korving who used a Boss EQ10, now uses a Boss EQ20, which has the advantage of a memory for 9 different settings.

hello,

the difference is that the GE-10 gives a analoque sound, the news ones (cheap i gess) mostly gives you a more digital sound
it has to do with the electronic parts inside.
So you will have to deside yourselves what you want, otherwise just try out the new ones.

cheers, tonio 8-)

The eq filter design is another factor in how they perform. The Graphic EQ often employs a fixed Q bandwidth which affects one sliders frequency but some can interact more with adjoining frequencies and adjusting one can affect other frequencies to some degree. So not all pedals behave exactly the same way.

The Biyang one mentioned above quotes analogue circuits in its design and does up to 15dB cut and boost. Not sure about the Caline EQ design but seems to be a copy / clone of the MXR 10 Band EQ

Another programmable EQ pedal with 4 user presets is the Source Audio EQ and the frequency bands are similar to the MXR / Boss GE10

They are about the price of the MXR

I bought a Caline 10 band EQ pedal as shown above and have tried it out over last few days and it sounds very good and I have put some of Ronnie Gustavson's setttings in and getting great results. This unit sells for around £30 on EBay whereas the MXR is about £120 and I think the Caline is a direct clone of the MXR so if you want a great cost effective EQ pedal I would recommend the Caline. The sliders have lights on so can see in dark on stage etc.

Hi,
I have both the 7 band Biyang and the MXR 10 band digital units. I have the MXR on my pedal board.
When I read this post about the analogue units I remembered using one years ago, after searching through
the attic found an old Boss RGE 10 EQ half rack unit and next it was a Alesis Nanoverb.
The analogue EQ seems to have more precise tones especially in the mid range so I am trying a few things out,
I have copied the settings with Ronnie Gustafsson Utube Video using my Boss RGE10 and the Alesis Nanoverb.
But I don't have an AC30 which he zeroed , I am trying to get a similar flat response on my amp.
Still its all part of the enjoyment.
Regards
Carl.

I recently obtained a Caline 10 Band Eq Pedal and initial settings / results are certainly giving a bit more noticeable balance
on overall settings, at least to my ears anyway!!
It doesn't have a battery facility, or a 9v power adaptor supplied, but not expected at around the £25 price mark.
