Had A second hand Jap strat 62 reissue for over year now,and just discover'd its got a push/pull tone on bridge pick up . is it standard on a 62 re issue or something thats been added ????

Sounds to me like it has been re-wired with a p/p pot.
The Japanese '62 reissues I've had came with the vintage wiring setup.

Apart from the log pot on the middle tone control, I fitted a push/pull switch to bring the bridge pick up in and also rewired the bottom tone control so as to operate on the bridge pick up again, a la Jeff Beck.

Great wah wah effect playing a la Jeff Beck with very little movement of the knob. (6 inch thumb stretch required )

I got all my three pickups on tone controls as well just nice to 'roll off on some numbers

Heres how to wire them if you wish to do it

Ecca did indeed sound a bit like a Wah Wah pedal with the log pot !

i also have a 80s squire strat that i had kinman pickups fitted to . on its last set up, i had bridge pick up rewired so it to, has a adjustable tone , best thing i ever done
