Tony Peluso - the 'Goodbye To Love' solo

Tony Peluso, the versatile guitar US guitarist who added the memorable fuzz-enhanced solos to the bridge and the extended coda of The Carpenters' Goodbye To Love died on 5th June, aged 60.

That really is sad news.
Whilst not a Guitarist, I always appreciated hearing Tony's instantly recogniseable playing style and enjoyed his stirling contribution to "the sound of The Carpenters".
R.I.P. Tony.

Yes, really sad news.
In the early 90's I listened to "Goodbye To Love" over and over again, and the guitar solo was what made it so hypnotic for me. It was so "in the mood" for the song.
I wish I could play like that.

Sorry to hear because I love that solo and a few years ago I did a soundfile incorporating the fuzzed out solo etc. Although I don't do post soundfiles much I will do on this one;

Blimey I'm knocked back by the news so young and a hero of mine I love his guitar sound which I think came from a Gibson ES335 and a fuzz unit... Sad loss RIP
