12 string guitar on "don't talk to him"

Postby hiffclall » 09 Nov 2023, 15:32

Hi all. Does anyone know what 12 string was used on this recording?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWguVmEZPo4

I found a live version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0Ag7UdfMuw where I think Hank is using a burns double six.

The original recording was in 1963. I didn't think he had the burns in 1963.

Any ideas? Rickenbacker?

Or maybe double tracked guitars octave apart?

I think it was a Burns Double Six, but I seem to recall that someone said it was two double-tracked six-string guitar parts.

It's double-tracked six-string guitars. Just after the solo you can hear the two notes not coinciding! Whether the guitars were Burns Marvin prototypes or Fender Strats...I don't know!
