Depending on the key, I seem to recall that Cavatina needs a high D... or is it an E...?

Mountains Of The Moon although it can be played by bending the highest note

Cavatina in E is fine with 21 frets. Oddly my smallest guitar (A Hohner/ Steinberger headless) has 24 frets!

I'd love to, Derek, but enough is enough, I've already flogged the headstock as you can see!

My Resistance is Low does indeed include the high Eb during the outro, but Hank used 34346 for that recording: a 21 fret guitar. When the Eb is played the string is being muted, and as long as you put the correct amount of pressure on the correct part of the string the note rings out as true as any other fretted note on the neck.

It is on mine(when its in tune)
I used to have an Aria which went up to "E" it was great not having to bend up to the high e when playing some rock or blues
