Original Hollies bass player and an early proponent of the Fender Bass VI.
The story goes that with the £250 instrument having arrived without a case, he had to carry it home by bus in a cardboard box!

Sad to hear of this I remember his last TV appearance on Top of The Pops when the Hollies sang Bus Stop even though it was Bernie Calvert who played on the record ,Eric left soon afterwards I think it was some dispute over management.

Eric certainly has received quite a number of tributes in the press, and also from his
former Hollies bandmates.
There is no denying his punchy Bass V1 lines contributed to the Hollies Sound
between 1963-66. A particular good example is the second LP "In the Hollies Style."
