Valves, Meet Arduino - Arduino, Meet Valves

This is my third eTap2hw unit - yes, I know, I'm addicted

It combines the Chinese 6N3 valve preamp that Ecca uses in his valve units, and the Arduino Uno and associated hardware that I used in my second unit. Piet's eTap2hw module is mounted on one of Ecca's Eccamatic pcbs and the Arduino controls the echo module, selects presets and allows for settings to be stored as user 'patches'. Presets can also be selected using MIDI or stepped through with a simple foot-switch.

Further details are in my blog http://echotapper.wordpress.com/

Thanks to Ecca, Piet, Johan and Steve for their help and encouragement in building this unit.

This is most impressive stuff Phil, most impressive!! But in spite many valve eTap2hw's having been built already we have only heard reports about how fabulous they sound, but no sample files have been posted here. I don't doubt for a second that the sound is heavenly, which is why I'd really like to hear some sound samples/files.

Bojan, I'm off on holiday from tomorrow but I certainly intend to record some samples as soon as I return, in two weeks. I too have been waiting to hear some recordings done with the valve-based units.

Hi,

Hope the sample recordings from a hybrid eTap I posted way back in January might give an idea?
Please see this posting: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=8744

Very nice job with your unit Phil. Congratulations.
Looking forward hearing some demos.

Cheers.
Johan.
