Greetings,

I've made a few test recordings using my newly-built valve hybrid eTaphw unit. This old classic and a few more.

Peacepipe:

a few more:

These recordings are all one takes, so not perfect at all. Please note these are without any modification or studio post processing of EQ. It's live from the speakers to give you an opportunity to hear what it sounds like played through some of my guitars and amps used for gigging.

Regards,
Johan.

Greetings all,

Thanks very much for listening to the test recording(s) also your valued responses. All much appreciated.

I used Echomatic II emulation (#3 or the fourth one on the list) for Peacepipe.

Just to clarify; this setup is quite different from the eTap2hw project. I would describe it as an "eTap engine embedded in Meazzi guts". All that was retained from the eTap2hw project was the echo-producing engine to produce something akin to what a set playback and feedback heads would produce in a tape loop. The guitar signal amplification is valve-based from input to output. Similarly, head playback and feedback are separately amplified, also with valves. Signal level adjustments, mixing etc. are done outside the digital domain, just like it is done in the Meazzi after which this unit is modeled. The unit contains two ECC83 valves; a Telefunken on the guitar signal, the playback and feedback amps uses a NOS Sylvania.

Otherwise, a separate automation controller is used to make it more user friendly and easy to use.

Piet has generously helped with encouragement and suggestions while I was hacking on the DSP engine's code.
I gratefully acknowledge his valued contributions.

Regards,
Johan.
