Hi Tonio, On my Ecca built etap Number 0 (zero) is your No 8 then all the different machines just follow on the same as your list to Number 7 Reverb and Tremelo. Just change your No 8 to zero (M/E model 'J' Classic) and that will give you the same settings as Dave and myself.

The different scales that the various eTap2hw builders have used may be leading to confusion when comparing one person's settings with another. IIRC Dave Robinson's settings published in an earlier post were made with one of Ecca's early units and this had scales from 1-12.

Later units are usually scaled 0-10. Subject to confirmation by Ecca and/or Dave that his scale is 1-12, then this conversion chart may be useful, bearing in mind that, as Dave has said, you should adjust to suit your own preferences, pickups, amp etc.

Scale 1-12 ----- Scale 0-10
1 .................... 0
2 .................... 1.7
3 .................... 2.5
4 .................... 3.3
5 .................... 4.2
6 .................... 5.0
7 .................... 5.8
8 .................... 6.7
9 .................... 7.5
10 ................... 8.3
11 ................... 9.2
12 ................... 10.0

Another source of confusion has been the echo model selector switch. There are 8 different echo machine emulations, referred to by the eTap2hw designer Piet as numbers 0-7.

Some builders have used a BCD Thumbwheel or Edge switch and the numbers on these USUALLY match this 0-7 numbering. Others have employed a rotary BCD switch and this is USUALLY labelled 1-8. Both types of switch often have more than just these 8 positions but setting them to a value beyond 7 (or 8 for the rotary type) does not give you extra echo models! In fact setting 8 on an edge switch simply repeats setting 0 and setting 9 will be the same as setting 1.

i have tried now some settings with meazzi J(8) that was allright, only Wonderful land is not what I like, but Dave also
changed to program 3 so he said,,,,,,,,,,,,I dont like when the muted part going to fast,,,,,,,,,,,,

Phil,
Your not wrong about the unit settings being confusing. With different parts being used by a number of builders, trying other members settings is not easy.
Mine was put together by Ecca,and the program selector is marked, 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F, and the scales go from 1 to 11
So I have never been very confident that I have the correct settings, when other members list their suggestions.
If the echo sounds wrong, I play around. But it would be nice to get there quicker and maybe more accurately.

Maybe, in future, if folk are giving their settings they could also say what their scale is marked?

I tried (prog 5) but i think it gaves me to much digital reverb, I like reverb but more the Abbey Road reverb,
but thats all over now. I dont have that equipment,,,,,,,,,,,,
