There's a cheaper 12 volt AC power supply than Maplins at RS.

Not good Rog, it's DC, also requires at least 1 amp.

Maplins N58AT is still cheaper at £15.99, you have to pay vat+£4.95 pp making total of £16.32 for Ecc's alternative

Trust me, the bloody thing is now obsolete, I swear it wasn't yesterday, there is a replacement though.

Keith, you can always fetch it from RS and pay no delivery charge.

Also, this power supply has only one 2.1/5.5mm connector and not a collection of various sized connectors that are turning out to be problematical.

Ecca,

Interesting that you mention problems with the power tips on the original power supply - mine seem to be very loose - but also they do not go as far in to the unit as the old one did, so I wondered if there were problems with the socket - or does it not matter ?

Also, the replacement power supply you mention is not in stock at the moment. Anyone know a good one that is available now?

All the best,

Nick

Hi Nick, look further down page and it shows an alternative, £16.23 inc vat/pp its only got one tip and is secure, unfortunately mine has a 'buzz' a quick phone call and they are sending a new one, its a AD4830-12.0-1600 uk. Just checked the alternative is out of stock as well but Brian at RS said they will be in stock in 2 weeks.
