Steve, that is an excellent early Shads sound, the magic is clearly there and it's as close as it gets with a camcorder and the way you have presented it with the eTap2 valve job and the Pinnacle amp, well done.

Hi dAve

Thanks there is certainly a magic in it, it's so easy to use, Ecca has done a fantastic job of taking Piet original idea and developing it further, certainly recommend it to anyone, you can never have too many echo units after all

Just building my second Automation version. ( Prototype )
I got my fingers burned on the first one last year, it cost me a lot of money.
A million thanks to Philip Hawthorne for his help in getting this one working.

Nice review of the Eccamatic eTap2HW from Steve.

Dave, Steve seems to have an SM57 in front of the Pinnacle so I'm not sure that's a camcorder sound he's recorded or did he record through the SM57 mic?

And is it my computer or does the sound go way out of sync with the picture from about 3 or 4 minutes in?

Hi phil

The initial sound was filmed just the mic only, the later bit about 6:50 on is recorded with the sm57' the sound is out of sync for the mid section as my editing got carried away, will fix this later

Thanks

No worries Steve  The same thing has happened to me and even when I get it right, sometimes YouTube messes it up!

How were the tone controls set on your Pinnacle for the SM57 recording?

Done , built and working, looking good, I'll probably take it to the Hankies tomorrow for trials.
I've used one of the original eTap boards being as I'd got one built up, I'll convert it to valve when I'm happy it's all working OK.
Just sorting out the editing procedures.
I'll carry on tomorrow.
Should I be able to see action in editing when I adjust the relevant pots Phil ?
The pot cable colours are different between the blog and the loom that came with the universal interface board.
