Flingel Bunt echo

Postby Stratman49 » 22 Jul 2012, 03:16

Does anyone out there know what echo unit Hank used on the Flingel Bunt recording?

Has anybody used any echo unit that gets close to that sound?

Cheers from Australia

I believe that the original was recorded using an Echomatic 2 but the echo has been faithfully reproduced by the TVS guys in your homeland and by Charlie Hall with his echo patches in various units in the UK.

I've always thought that the good old Zoom2000EFTP on Patch 9 was pretty good, especially with a bit of pedal compression thrown in as well.
DOesnt have to cost a packet to be good
I think it always depends on just how "perfect" you ant it to be.
cheers

I mean that if you think of the 4 replay heads on a Meazzi (is it four or five? I've forgotten) which of them are switched on and which switched off?

I'm thinking how I'm going to replicate the sound on a Line 6 DM4.

Ok sorry I seen what you mean. Like I say I think it was a long tom, in slow mode, heads 2-4-5-6 they are about 70ms apart so your looking at times of 140-280-350-420 I find it sounds better with repeats from head 5.
