Good morning Charlie.

"I've got the guitar" What guitar do you have?
Is this your first guitar or have you played for years?

"I've got the amplifier"

What amplifier do you have?
First amplifier or had one for years?

Do you play at home, bedroom, or somewhere else?

How do you know about the G3/ Hall's Echoes and the Stanley FX Baby Blue?

How old are you and where do you live?

The above info will get a better result to your question.

I have the G3X and Hall's Echoes. An excellent combination.
I play mostly in my conservatory.
I have a number of Fender Stratocasters coupled with a Vox AC15HW1 and / or a Boss Katana 100.

I've never seen or heard the Stanley Baby Blue so can't comment on that.
I'm sure armed with more information, others may be able to.
There is a wealth of knowledge on this site.

Give us more info Charlie. And, welcome to the site.

Cheers, Alan.

Blue nebula gives you a good result in the echos, not very expensive, advice from a French friend. Have a good day.
Bye.

morning alan
thanks for reply...heres a bit more about me...have played for the last 20 years allways liked shadows music so decided to buy a vintage v6 strat copy very pleased with it all Wilkinson hardware Wilkinson pickups necks great sounds great my amp at moment is a Blackstar 15 tvp ok its not a ac 30 or ac 15 but again but what I can afford..to it sound very nice on clean..i live up in north Scotland 12 miles north of inverness...most of my playing is like yourself in the sun lounge.
I heard about Charlie halls shadows patches on this forum so decided to join up ...I recently bought a zoom g5 with some supposedly shadows patches on it but they were not good so that had to go.. so this is why im on this forum seeking advice from the people who know what they are talking about...by the way the baby blue pedal from Stanley fx is supposed to emulate most of hanks echoes mainlymeattzie(hope that's spelt correctly)no binson echorec effects think there is some boss on there too..just wondered who has used the pedal and what their thoughts were
thanks for answering
best regards charlie

Morning again Charlie.

I've just had a listen to the Blue Nebula samples on the links posted
by Mick. That's the first time I've heard any sound files from this machine.
I'd have to say I'm impressed.
Judging by your location, you don't have the advantage I have of visiting various
locations and listening to what's available.
I do, however, envy your location simply for the scenery, peace and tranquility.
( Although that will depend on how loud you play Apache ) :-)

There is no right or wrong kit to play Shadows music.
Ask Eric Thacker, ( Ecca ) who played it on a Gibson les Paul, A Gibson 335 and
a self built "Cakeocaster" to name but a few. I'm sure I once saw him playing a Stratocaster. :-)

Good to know more about you Charlie. Keep on playing the music we all love.

Cheers, Alan.

I have the Baby Blue eTap2HW by Stanley Effects. It has small footprint for pedal board and is designed to emulate the early echos used by the Shadows including Meazzi and Roland and Long Tom. It also has tremelo and reverb. Its priced very well at around £150 . It was originally a circuit build by Piet who is a member here. There is a gain trim pot inside the pedal which I found needed to be adjusted to use in conjunction with the gain on front panel to get the best from it. Its the echo I use and I like it.

Hi Charlie,

You say you live 12 miles north of Inverness, as it happens I live 27 miles south of Inverness in Invermoriston so if you want to hear the G3X with Ross Hall's echoes or the Hall - Collins unit then I can help. I have used an Alesis Q20 and a TVS3 in the past too. You'll find some of my postings either here or as ScouserJoe on Charlie Hall's site although I am no longer a member there.

Best regards,

Ian

Hi Charlie,

Ross Hall's EFTP patches come as a file download as part of the package Ross sends when you purchase from him. The files can then be saved for use in the future. They are very easy to install using a Zoom Edit and Share Application which is freely available. I think that they are very good and the system generally comes reasonably priced. Make sure you get a G3 or G3X when you are buying and NOT the G3N and G3XN which will not work. There are always a few available on E-Bay, it's just a matter of getting a decent one at a price.

Cheers,

Ian
