Last night was better at the Saddlers (2nd night) and everyone seemed more settled and we did not take many amps this time which made an improvement to this smaller room. Speaking to Jock the Landlord last night he thought when Ecca approached him he was getting a few guys with accoustic guitars and when he saw the Fenders and amps etc he was like Oh Whoa ... but he tells me he is really enjoying it and seems to be. I am warming to the place. I have asked and got a list of what people think and most would like a return to Wyrley with many saying we should stick out for lower fees. I do not think the committee have actually met either. Perhaps if Alan suggest the £1 per head thing via Tony as an offer. I think the losses to the club will in the end be in the realms of £400 - 450 a month roughly and that is good income. I also agree that we could perhaps swing it so weeks 1 and 3 we go to Wyrley and weeks 2 and 4 to Saddlers.

Jock tells me the takings at the Saddlers about 6 months ago was around £300 a week and he has built it back up and doing very well (he stated £2 - 3 grand a week I think ) In any case most on 2nd visit seemed to enjoy it a lot more including me.

I mentioned we liked cobs too and Jock says he can put the cobs on for a £1 each sounds like a deal to me :D

Do not dare to criticise Coronation Street.
My Grandaughter and I converse about nothing else. She is an addict.
Amanda, the memory has arrived.
Also thanks to Jock, the new landord and his wife, what a lovely pair.
Cheers
Ecca.
Bad news....... the daughter's dog Charlie, has been taken to the vet and is in a critical condition.
Some sort of kidney failure and surgery may be the only option.
The poor mite is only 20 weeks old, my daughter's heartbroken.

Hope Charlie gets better, my cat Toby had kidney failure at 9yrs and didn't make it (£1300 spent at vets)

Of vital interest to Shadows lovers everywhere is the news that Charlie appears to be on the mend.
He was taken from the local vet to Stafford Veterinary hospital for overnight observation and digital xrays this morning.
His breathing was normal and his gums, which had gone white, were pink again.
Bless him, the little bugger can gnaw on my hand all he likes when he gets home.

Right..... where were we ?............

Oh yes, that pesky pub we're now playing at...........

It's my thread, I'll put what I like.
