Just a word of thanks from all the lads in Past Masters to all of you who helped make our gig at The Acorn Theatre last night a rare sellout with the 'House Full' signs out by 6-30pm.
For those who may be getting a little concerned about our musical content, we are not deserting our instrumental roots altogether and will possibly be doing another guitar orientated gig in the future. The thing is, to fill a theatre these days, it seems the name of the game is to offer variety which means widening the musical scope quite a bit. I enjoyed the diversity myself and apart from having a troublesome throat which made me sound quite hoarse at times, i did enjoy being 'Bowie' and 'Gerry Rafferty' for a change - sods law the voice is OK this afternoon.
Special thanks to our two new members Daniel and Adrian who excelled and are eager to do more of these gigs with us so watch this space !
Many thanks too for Kevin Harris for joining us on the Showaddywaddy set and help make it a success. Must admit it was great fun for ourselves and the audience, which is far removed from the serious instro type gigs.
The Acorn theatre is unique and is run voluntarily and we will be doing them a free dance in the autumn to help raise money for the upkeep of the place.
On July 16th there's a concert there by Life Story who are performing an evening of Shadows music - It's a great little theatre and is a good night out, close to some some nice restaurants, so if you are looking for a gig to see on that day you know where to go.
