Australian Cricket Humility

Postby Bill Bowley » Mon Jan 10, 2011 11:42 pm

We was beaten, but I hope at least we still have our senseof humour.

I find these appropriate in the current (not I said 'current'!) circumstances:

Q. What do you call an Aussie who's good with a bat?
A. A vet

Q. What do you call an Aussie with a bottle of champagne?
A. A waiter

Q. What do you call an Aussie who can hold a catch?
A. A fisherman

Q. Why can no one drink wine in Australia at the moment?
A. They don't have any openers

Q. What's the difference between Cinderella and the Aussies?
A. Cinderella knew when to leave the ball

Q. What do you call a world class Australian cricketer?
A. Retired

Q. Where do you find an Australian cricketer with runs?
A. Trap 2

Ring Ring.....

Hello - Australian team dressing room

Hello mate...Can I speak to Ricky Ponting please.

Sorry mate - he's just gone out to bat

It's OK - I'll hold.

It's great being an England fan at the moment.

Mind you I wish the Ozzie press would leave Ponting alone. To quote Wikipedia "Ricky Ponting remains the most successful Australian captain of all time, with 48 victories in 77 Tests since 2004 - 31 December 2010, while as a player he has taken part in 99 victories, the most by anyone in history"

Nuff said.

And he's also the most unsuccessful Australian Ashes captain ever! Not that we're complaining ;)
