I am doing a "quality of life" project (bit like Jim will fix it) for those clients and one in particular is a big fan of the shadows. I am hoping that one or more of the shadows may see this and help me to make this mans dream come true. Ideally he would like to see them perform but a signed photo or personal message etc would be great. Hope someone on this site knows how to help me to make this happen. Not to worry, though - as they say "Onwards and Upwards", we're still looking forward to an enjoyable evening, and playing some Shads tunes.
By coincidence, we've put "Theme from Shane" in our setlist, and the film is being televised at 8pm on Sky Classics - sounds like TWO reasons to stay home, then!
This sort of thing has happened before to the brother's Creasey (and I'd guess, other gigging musos). In 1966 we were booked to play at a works social club in Grimsby, on the night of the World Cup final!
We played for money in those days, and recall sitting with the Entertainments Secretary watching England win the match in an otherwise empty club. This particular Creasey is no football fan, and 1966 is probably the last time that he watched a match - and got paid for it too, if memory serves correctly!
