This is reasonably interesting. I remember seeing it back in the day...

Mention of the mock stereo mixes inevitably reminds one of the abominable versions of F.B.I. and Wonderful Land that appeared on the stereo issue of The Shadows Greatest Hits. Our presenter refers to engineer, Peter Brown, but I think he means Peter Bown, co-engineer with Stuart Eltham of CR's Livin' Lovin' Doll and Living Doll from the early period.

It was news to me that Brian Epstein died of an overdose in September 1966, just after the Beatles' last tour of the USA (or anywhere).

The history books have his death occurring in late August (not even September) 1967.

Yes, it was over the 1967 August bank holiday weekend during the Beatles' soujourn in Bangor with the Maharishi - surely, common knowledge!

I remember a friend lending me his copy of this album sometime in the 70s, it was very welcome as it contained a few items that were unavailable anywhere else - well not at that time anyway.

As the video points out, with the 1997 release of all the albums on CD, Past Masters 1 and 2 (which contained all the tracks the Beatles released officially that weren't on the other albums) rendered it redundant. Strictly speaking though, some of the mixes were different.
