Opening chords of Geronimo

Postby Rosemary » 29 Dec 2010, 12:00

Hi
I've been struggling with the opening chords of Geronimo for ages and wonder if everyone plays them this way. I'll keep practising them anyway. Thanks in advance :)

Yes, those are the chords but I think Rosemary is referring to the lead guitar double stops.

Rosemary, you only need to play double stops, not the triple stops on your tab. Just play the first two, the E and B strings.

It Is The same notes as Noel suggeted above just in a different position both work

Ho Bob, Noel and Jay
Thanks very much for your help. Trying to play the three notes was really tricky and resulted in some pretty horrible noises so this makes it a lot easier although I know sooner or later I'll have to learn to play chords up there too. I might just re-learn it as:
--8--12--10--7---8-- |
-10--13--12--8--10--|
for the time being and see if I can move on to the 2nd example when I improve as the 1st example is easier for me at this stage.
btw I've saved your instructions in a text file called geronimo-beginning.txt. I'm collecting a lots of files like this e.g
atlantis-ending.txt
apache-hints.txt :)
Thanks again and best wishes for the New Year!

Hi, for Geronimo I play the B and G strings ( Jay's second way he showed ) and it sounds good. And everyone else I know plays it that way :)

Hi Sam and Mark
I'm glad that's the more common way because I've been struggling almost as much the first way as I did when trying to play 3 notes but the second way might be easier. I don't know why I'm having so many problems on the B and E strings (except for lack of experience). Usually if I practise chords or a difficult passage enough there's some improvement but this has been really difficult.
Thanks
Rosemary
