Mark Griffiths - New Album Coming Soon

Postby donna plasky » Thu Nov 03, 2011 5:08 am

I happened to find the attached video and website, while looking for information on Mark Griffiths. It appears he has a new album and tour scheduled for the Spring of 2012. His first solo album, entitled 52 Florence Road, was fabulous. Looks like he's part of a new guitar trio called 3Boxes.

There's some wonderful pickin' going on there - it sounds like it's going to be a great album.

Hi Donna,

Many thanks for discovering this link.
"Wranglin'" sounds very promising. Let's hope that 3 Boxes will soon find a label to release the album.

I know this is silly of me to say this, but Mark is wearing a Finders Keepers hat. :)

For anyone who is interested, here is a link to Mark's webpage. There are free copies of a few of his songs from "52 Florence Road." It's a great album. The credits on the album indicate he played three different Fender electric guitars, two different bass guitars, two or three acoustic guitars including a mandolin, and Korg and Roland keyboards. Plus a few of the songs are original Mark Griffiths works. I am really looking forward to the 3Boxes album being released in the Spring.

I met Mark Griffiths at pub in a village in Northamptonshire not long after he had finished the tour with Cliff and the Shads.
Up until then I had always regarded him as a bass player, but he's a lot more than that. He sat there with his Fender Squire guitar with a couple of mates for backing, and, I have to say he is one of the most accoplished all round guitarists that I have ever seen. I would definately buy any album of his.

Great news for Mark Griffiths fans. Leo's Den is reporting that Mark's new album is about to be published and they expect to have it for sale soon. It is an acoustic album called "Strings Attached" and the promo video is at the top of this thread. It seems to be Mark and some of his band mates from Plainsong. I am very excited and just wanted to pass along that news. Thanks.

The issue of those Spanish hats came up a few years ago on a visit to Madrid. They are seen in "finders Keepers" and also on one of the "Los Shadows" sleeves.

Research seems to indicate that they are called "Cordoba hats".
