It is with great sadness that I have heard this afternoon, from Steve's wife (Rosie), that Steve died on Tuesday.
Steve was a good rhythm (left handed player) with a good sense of humour.
He played for many years at the Dartford & Strood Shadows guitar clubs. And will be of course be missed.
He was a great friend to have.
Mick

That is VERY sad news, Mike.

I last saw Steve at one of Roger Cook's meets down near Canterbury, probably about this time last year. He preferred, if I recall correctly, to stick to rhythm guitar, which he played with great attention to detail.

I know that he and Rosie had various other interests in life and that Steve was a very moral man, something which came out in conversation with him very readily.

He was obviously taken from this life all too soon (he couldn't have been any great age).

RIP, Steve. And condolences to Rosie.

Very sorry to hear that Steve Press has died. Remember him and Rosie at The Dartford club. He once backed me on rhythm guitar when I played lead to a Shadows number.
He will be sorely missed.
R.I.P. Steve. Condolence to Rosie.

I'm so sad to hear this news. Steve was a real character and such a nice man. We spent many fun hours together at the Dartford, Strood and East Kent clubs. My condolences go to Rosie and all Steve's family at this difficult time.
