Kenny Lynch RIP

Sad to see the passing of Kenny Lynch this week.

I always thought that this was his best song although not as big a hit as 'Up On The Roof''.

'Moving Away' was virtually unknown and I thought was his best.

My favourite is the B side of his 45 Shake and Scream called Harlem Library. It's a Beatles type
rocker far better than the A side which in my opinion was rubbish!!!

Our 4 piece band done a charity dinner dance at Kempton Park Racecouse and Kenny was there with some other celebrity's.

He got up and sang a few numbers with us, including 'Up on the Roof'. A lovely bloke, I still have his autograph and the programme.

Don't forget that Kenny also co-wrote Sha-La-La-La-Lee for the Small Faces. although they didn't like it that much and rarely performed it!

(Nothing wrong with it in my view - indeed it was the only one of his compositions that was a hit. No 3 in 1966.)

And with Misery, he became the first artist to release a cover of a Beatles song.
