OK, he looks terrible these days - hard to believe that he's the one who wore a German helmet, looked down the camera lens and said "We just haven't got a clue whaaaaat to do!" - but Steve Priest talks about his early days and gives praise and all due respect to The Shadows. Another one who says it like it is...

He is unrecognisable from his days in the Sweet. But that's what happens when you put on a huge amount of weight and then lose a huge amount of weight. Plus they decided to interview him just after he'd woken up and is clearly still half asleep. Not very well done at all, but it's the comments that are of interest...

Interviewer: "What kind of hooked you into music?"

"The Shadows... Apache was the first song that I fell in love with."

Interviewer: "I hear from a lot of Brits that the Shadows were huge... and a big, big influence."

"They were... (...)... Jet Harris from the Shadows was my influence, as far as bass goes..."

etc...
