Just been reading Dave Hill from slade New Autobiography (So here it is) ISBN 978-1-7835-420-4
He mentions how he was influenced by the sound of the echo on Hanks guitar
And the first Tune he tried learning to play ( Theme for young lovers)
He also mentions trying to work out the awkward middle 8 bit in FBI
and performing shadows covers in the early years of his career
So yet another Guitarist influenced By The shadows.

What a Great band Slade Were and are still going strong with thier line up including Dave Hill And Don Powell.

I read in an old Record Collector magazine article once that Slade did a version of Peace Pipe on one of their 60s recordings - they might have been Ambrose Slade back then.
