I can think of a great rendition of Wonderful Land that was done on a Vox Tonelab in recent months albeit with a authentic tape echo unit which tends to show it is achievable. I would say that whether you use a Vox AC30/15 or a modeller then the EQ and finishing touches are still required to match a studio recording because that is what they did !

I have a Tonelab and a AC30 and the AC30 is for me the winner .... warm and full ... The Tonelab needs a little extra nursing to get to the tones but they are in there ... I still love that ef86 chl and that's what I go to more often than not .
