Anyone any experience of the newer Peavey Bandit 112 - with the trans tube emulation circuitary?
Seems a good buy for all round sounds and a few Shads numbers - although its not "that sound" Im seeking!

i have literally just brought one of these last few days one of the early transtube ones with the red line, cost me £65 on ebay, great little amp, perfect for home use and small gigs, on vintage with my Q2 the sound is pretty good and its so much lighter than the valve amps etc, worth a shot either as a spare amp or to mic up.

My pal who I play guitar with has used Peavey Bandits for about 20 years, he's had Marshalls and others but always comes back, he currently uses a transtube model he's had from new about 3 years old.

He plays his Strats and acoustics through it, true it's mostly rhythm.

I still have a Bandit with a 12" Scorpion speaker tucked away, it sounds great and always works when I switch it on.

We've both tried Valve Kings, and Vipers?, but although I like my valve amps, Laney, Marshall Kelly etc, I even had a Peavey Triumph for a while, but I just can't fault the sound from the Bandit.

Does Transtube make it better? debatable, and maybe not the best for Blues but for Shad's style they come pretty close particularly on the lead channel without too much front end gain.
