Oddly (you might think) and by the rarest of chances, I was present, nearly a year ago, on Dick Dale's boat [no, I'm not joking] at Balboa while he strummed and noodled on his own signature model Sonoran. I didn't dare ask for a try, and it wouldn't have done me any good if he had handed it to me, since Dick is one of the most famous southpaws in the world.
The Sonoran looked great close up and was clearly of sufficient build quality as to be capable of being set up with a close action (not that that is Dick's style). The sound was what you might expect a small bodied semi to produce, but if the ordinary Sonoran is half as good, then £150 sounds like a bargain. It looks several times more expensive.
