Just bought one of these (second hand EBay) for $550AUD with hard case and incl shipping. Anyone have one?
This is a stock photo, but the same as the one I bought.

Hi Bill,
Nice Strat. I haven't got one, but remember seeing them in the stores a few years back. If it's Japanese, it will be a good one. Happy strumming .

Tony.

These are a cool looking guitar and they were always in stock at our local music shop before it went bust.
If I were to see one at the right price I would be tempted to add one to the collection, though because of it's appearance it would be difficult to pass it off as 'one I've had for ages' to the missus.

What does it sound like - same as or similar to a traditional strat, or quite different?

Martyn,

This might give you some idea of how it sounds. As the player says, the models without the pickguard are rare, but they sound basically the same.

Hope this helps,

Regards. ;)

Well, I've already started to 'aquire' a few update components for this Aerodyne Strat, firstly it came with ye olde 'diecast' bridge block, I have a spare Callaham unit which will be fitted to it soon. Also, I'm going to install a new set of Lace 'Gold' Black sensors, and TOG black metal pickup rings to mount them on (I don't like the 'trenches' and exposed wires on the non-scratchplate set up!). Apart from that. its great, light and comfortable and still a Strat!

Here's another sample of the sounds they make (or actually the player if we are to believe Chet Atkins, and why not you ask?)
