There was a small company in France run by André et Roger Jacobacci who, alongside traditionnaly made guitars, produced in the early sixties electric guitars with a neck made of aluminium alloy, the Ohio guitar :

Nowadays there is small French company called Vigier, making high quality guitars whose neck is partly made of carbon fiber : http://www.vigierguitars.com/ Their "Expert" model is a Strat look-alike.

That red guitar looks intriguing - it's effectively a copy of the cheapest Vox solid of the early 1960s, the Vox Stroller (with one bar-pickup near the wooden bridge).

Actually Sam I'm playing with a neck right now.

Something like an "O-shape neck" (made in USA for baseball) Ecca?
Carbon-Tech neck systems you also can find at a Dutch company in Vlaardingen (near Rotterdam)
