The illustrated catalog of guitars

Postby George Geddes » Thu Sep 02, 2010 2:09 pm

If you gave a branch of The Works near you, you might want to look out for this little book. A mini coffee table work with 256 pages, mostly one page description plus photo of common and less common guitars. Two Burns (Shadows Custom and Marquee) plus loads of Fender, Gretsch, PRS, Rickenbacker, Gibson models. A mere £2.99

I'll check that out asap - there's a branch in the local town.

Thanks for the info, George.

The author is Nick Freeth, by the way, and it's a 2010 publication. I would not necessarily trust the text 100% but the photos are great.

Just wondering if there might be a member of this forum who would be prepared to purchase a copy of this
publication for a fellow member residing in the colonies?
Appropriate financial reimbursement would of course be forthcoming.
Cheers,
JB

Thanks for the recommendation, George. I got a copy yesterday. One feels that some of the choices must have been made because of what was available to be photographed (replicas rather than originals, for example), rather than what would best illustrate a particular type of guitar but for £2.99, an absolute gem of a book.

Not many Hofners, well, only one, the McCartney bass.

Hello Ecca,
Thank you for the prompt and generous response. If you are able to obtain a copy for me, maybe you could PM me with details of costs and a Paypal address if you have one. Otherwise I'll send some 'readies'.
Thanks again and cheers,
JB
