Well if anyone is interested, how about a Vox AC30 Hand Wired Limited Edition - one of a very limited number produced in memory of Dick Denney around 2002; I believe there were only about 250 units made for Korg at the Marshall Factory in Milton Keynes?
Single channel based on the top boosted brilliant channel of a 1964 AC30.Volume,Treble, Bass and Tone Cut, Simplified tremolo with speed and depth, Accutronics reverb with tone and depth, Master volume 5xECC83, 1xGZ34 and 4XEL84 into 2 Celestion Blues.
Mint condition but getting too heavy for me to handle. By recollection they were around £2500 new. OKL, no EF86, but there was a reason why Vox stopped using them - lack of longevity!.

Is the EF86 noted for shorter than average life?

Yes, when they have to suffer from speaker vibrations in a combo amp...

Thanks Didier, interesting - obviously a little more delicate.
