Swell/Volume Pedal

Postby davebod1 » 18 Mar 2010, 20:36

Being fairly new to the forum can anyone tell me what the swell or volume pedal Hank uses. He uses it on Deerhunter amongst others and I have a Zoom G2.1u but can't seem to get the same kind of effect.
Thank you Dave

The DeArmond 610 was used between 1963/64 to the mid 70's.

Hi Dave,

There is another thread on this section that may be of assistance to you, there are also some demos on YouTube, that might help you decide.

As Alan McK said, the DeArmond 610 pedal was used by Hank up to around 1975 (you can hear it - I am sure - on Superstar and The Most Beautiful Girl on the "Tasty" LP).

After that, Hank seems to have eschewed the use of the tone and volume pedal in favour of a volume-only pedal, certainly by the time that Cavatina and ...Argentina were produced later in that decade.

HTH.
