I did see Burt using that at a club I used to play at in the 70's. I also had one the same in the 70's but it kept 'cutting out' , the shop exchanged it but that also kept cutting out so it had to go!

I chatted with Burt and asked him how often he changed his guitar strings, he said 'about twice a year'! I said 'blimey, mine only last 2/3 weeks before they sounded dead'.

He told me he wiped them down with 'baby oil' to make them last. I tried it but found it was too messy!
