Can anyone give me some help on setting up my Marquee tremolo. I only have downward movement but nothing upwards. Seems different to a Strat style. Also it seems the arm is very loose and rattles . Help Cheers

Hi, You don't say what year Marquee you have or which type of tremolo.

My "Point Classic" tremolo has a nylon bush which the tremolo passes through before reaching the 5mm retaining thread. This nylon bush can be tightened using the very small allen screw on the tremolo casting and thus stop the arm from rattling. If the bush is missing you can easily make one using a nylon standoff bought from ebay and you need to put a small cut in it to allow the squeezing action from the screw, I used a Dremel with a thin cutting disc. I watched the bush from mine bounce across the floor and disappear under a seat never to be found again!

Basically setting up a Marquee is the same as the Strat:

1 - Select the place where you want the bridge to settle, thus providing the desired amount of up/down movement.
2 - Find something of the desired thickness to place between bridge plate and guitar body to keep it in that position. (I use a bit of 2mm plastic card for a Strat.)
3 - Tune all 6 strings to pitch.
4. Gradually loosen the screws in the back, until your piece of card (or whatever) just slides out.
5. Guitar should now be perfectly tuned, with the bridge in the exact position.

All fixed and running well fitted a Staytrem arm to it. Replaced controls and selector tip with ones to my liking and better quality than the originals
