Many thanks for all this valuable advice, fellas. I know about the black plastic Dunlop "locks" (already using those on the ES-335), but I was thinking of something a bit more substantial and also with a "quick release" feature (the Dunlop clips are a PITA when putting the guitar back in its case).
It looks as though the Schaller item is the one to consider.
