As Didier said - the vibration in a combo amp was the reason that the EF86 was dropped in favour of the ECC83 but having said that, remember that the amps were used by bass guitarists as well and the cabinet vibration is a lot worse in that case (particularly with Jet playing in the early days!!)

I've used EF86 valves a lot in combo amps playing normal 6 string guitar and had no problem.

I have changed my power valves and rectifier since I bought my Heritage but had no problem at all with the preamp valves including the ef86 which I use mostly. Some manufacturers do make them a bit sturdier than others as well to cut down on microphony and the like but the russion one I have in mine has been fine from new.. oops should I have spoken
