Hi All

Can anyone please tell me what the differences are between the Burns 64 Hank Marvin
and the Apache.

Thanks

basicly its the same configeration of guitar. The Aphe is - shall we say- a deluxe version with hotter pickups and I think slightly wider neck. Check the Burns web site for exact spec.

Hi Bojan

Thanks for the comment,I just hope that the Noiseless version has
the same sound as the original,I have the chance of a 64 reissue in red,
but I think I will wait for the Apache.

I think that's a sensible choice!! I'm sure that the noiseless Apache will be excellent. Knowing Barry Gibson's dedication to quality and faithfulness to the authentic Burns sound, this new Apache can be only as good or better than the previous Apache series. I ordered a white Apache but asked Barry to fit it with a maple neck and bird's eye maple fingerboard and it is absolutely stunning!!!

Here is how it sounds.

Also, here is a picture, "modeled" by a good friend of ours, Tanya, who appreciates fine guitars.

Hello Bojan

The sound file is excellent, very authentic sound.

Regarding the maple neck, you have me wondering now,all my guitars have
maple boards and I was looking at the Apache to be the first one with a rosewood
one.
Having seen your guitar I can honestly say it looks stunning, and I am now torn between
the two types of neck.

I suppose cost would be a deciding factor, but I won't know that till they are available.

Alan, the cost of the bird's eye maple fingerboard did not increase the price of my guitar. Second, the Apache, at least the first series, was never offered with a rosewood fingerboard, but with ebony . . . I hope this helps you in your choice. It's largely a matter of personal taste; I just like a maple fretboard more and I like the way it matches the headstock and goes with the rest of the guitar. Besides, a maple fretboard would make your guitar more collectible ;)

Cheers,
Bojan
