Hi looking for some advice , i have the Burns Custom Elite, now normally i play a fender strat and my ac15ch but tried the burns with no alteration to the amp now it sounds ping pongy except when i put my Geminii tone pedal in on the 3rd light setting it sounds great with the gemini. But this got my thinking its obviously a different guitar to the fender so it must need the amp tone settings changed, wonder if anyone has any recommendations on ac15 tone settings using the top boost channel ?

Sorry I don't have a reply to the original question - but an additional question (sorry)...
I've just bought a Burns Custom Elite Series Shadows 1964 John Rostill bass - and can't tell you how happy I am!!
Just wondered - does anyone have any links to the original Burns London information about them - specs etc - and / or know the original RRP?
I have seen the Trevor Midgley excellent summary (http://www.trevormidgley.com/BurnsGuita ... s1964.html) - but the Burns site only seems to reference the slightly earlier Shadows 1964 bass with 'Shadows' on the headstock, cf. my later John Rostill one with 'Marvin' on the headstock.
Any information welcome!
Thank you very much.

JimN - thank you for those links - unfortunately they don't open for me - says 'Sorry, this content isn't available at this time'...
Would you have any other way of showing them?
Thanks again.

That's probably because you aren't a Facebook poster.

Let me think...

I just noticed the Burns advert i posted ref john rostill bass specs doesnt mention what strings were on the bass
mine was fitted with Daddario chromes ECB82 flats from new
i did try thomastik flats la bella flats and fender flats but reverted back to the original chromes as i thought they gave the bass a better John Rostill type tone.

i use thomastiks and la bella flats on my p basses , but they just didnt seem to give me the Rostill tone.on the Burns bass.
