Something completely different from me.
This beautiful tune (to me anyway) was written by Diane Scanlon and Eve Nelson.
I suppose it was most famously performed by the late Eva Cassidy although there have been quite a few others.
The lyrics are about those whom we love and have been taken from us all too soon and I think it makes a great simple Instro and I hope you do too.
The BT is mine made in Band In A Box and is my simple arrangement for two guitars. It is finger-picked throughout hence the odd finger fluff from me.

Hi Ian - That was lovely, super clear recordings of the acoustics and I loved those deep base notes,
smashing chords and the expression and feeling you put into this was just perfect.

Lovely recording with a true guitar sound and great chord work to boot. Never heard this song before, but it certainly made great listening. Loved it.

Ecca- yep its the NEW Biab2013. In order to get the “ritards” right (those little pauses and slow downs between phrases) I had to tinker a lot with the meter in lots of bars.
Roger – with just two guitars there is little else to clutter up the sound stage.
Phil – the low Bass notes idea came from you!!! Its written in “G” and I was struggling to think of what to do about the low D and G notes. The accompaniment is picked on the top 4 strings only, and I finally realised after listening to “Crying Game” that the bottom two had to be de-tuned to D and G to get them. There are a LOT of “chord2” chords in there as well as a fair smattering of Gbdims etc. All good fun.
All – I'm so glad you like the tune and the arrangement. For personal reasons, this song has considerable meaning and I hope some of it came through in the playing.

Great playing Ian Love the deep notes as Phil says, and it is nice just to hear two instruments playing, easy on the ear.
Talking of de-tuning, I saw a video of a guy(Jim Soloway) in youtube who de-tuned his guitar down to Dflat. It really sounded lovely and really unusual and really enhanced the chords as well as the runs he was playing, pretty much like a baritone guitar. Dont know why he picked Dflat but it worked.

Thanks for listening and the comments. I think full marks have to go to Quinn Bachand who laid down all those lovely "samples" from which I was able to make the BT.
I don't know why Jim picked Db either, not with good old C being right next door. There may be a technical musical reason.
