Very first independent video -- Albatross

Postby Bojan » 15 Apr 2014, 15:27

Finally, thanks to help and advice from members, I have made my first video. The thing that I thought about when playing this song was the ocean. I sailed across the Atlantic four times and it is an unforgettable memory, so I incorporated some ocean scenes (I definitely wanted to avoid footage of an albatross flying) and at the end there is a little counterpoint, which I hope you will find amusing. The good part about the video is that there is very little of me in it . . .

So, here it is: Albatross

Cheers,
Bojan

P.S. The letters "ja" that appear on Cary Grant's back mean "me" in Serbian . . . ;)

Thank you Ecca!! I was hoping you'd like it.

Brits, even those from the Midlands, have the sea in their blood, so I don't think you were really seasick, but it is true that those high seas can be rough
. . . I wanted to create an atmosphere of rolling, pulsating waves, at least in the first part, and then the wake of the ship is supposed to hypnotize you, and the beguiling Grace Kelly then finishes you off, like she did me at the end. ;)

Cheers,
Bojan

Oh, I forgot to mention, I go through the phenomenal Korg Ampworks and even more phenomenal eTap2hw into my PC. Recorded with Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 2. The camera is a cheap Olympus, but it's good enough for my purposes. ;) Unfortunately, I don't recall how I got the BT or from whom :(

I have heard many covers of this classic, but none of them cut it for me.

You have taken the time to get the harmonies and sound close to the original and it's payed off.

Great job!

Hi Bojan,
the guitar looks like mine but I've got the '57 re issue from Fender in Sonic Blue, but with Texas Specials on it.
probably explains why mine sounds o/k, but yours sounds Spot On
