Fairytale of New York Video

Postby Phil McGarrick » 20 Dec 2013, 10:35

"Fairytale of New York" was released in 1987 by The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl. Sadly Kirsty was killed on 18th Dec 2000 during a powerboat accident while diving on holiday in Mexico.
The song is an Irish folk style ballad, written by Jem Finer and Shane MacGowan and is my own all time favourite Christmas song.
I have attempted to play a "Jig" version on my acoustic J200

Have a very merry Christmas and I hope you like "Fairytale of New York" Cheers Phil

Hi Phil
How odd - it makes a far better Instro than it ever did a vocal. JMO.
Wonderful tone on the J200 and your great sense of timing makes this a Christmas Winner for me.
From Val and me, a Happy Christmas and here's to a happy, healthy, loving and musical New Year ahead.
All the very best to you and all your family.
Very best regards
Ian and Val and Molly the Cavvy

Hello Phil

I keep saying I am going to post one of my own compositions on this website - but unfortunately every time I hear superb renditions (like this one from your good self) and others from Robbo, Eric, Ian (Stratpicker) etc. I think I'll leave it a little longer. Er, I think I'll leave it a little longer!

Best wishes
