loads of feeling in the playing, some great "Hankisms" and subtle use of the swell pedal.
Great BT from Ian M too.
I really enjoyed this... Cheers Phil

Hi Phil
thank you for your comments. Coming from The McGarricks that is high praise indeed!
Those runs in the latter half are still not right (after 10 years!! lol) but they're not far off.
IanMcC did us proud with this one too.
cheers

tolo wrote:Lovely phrasing on this Ian - and a nice bit of attitude on some note attacks too... It makes a big difference to the feel of the tune. Your timing is great - something that is often overlooked a lot... I loved it.

My best to you,

Tony.

Hi tony
I hope you are doing OK over in SA.
Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment - much appreciated.
Considering its not rated as one of The Shads better efforts I just LOVE it and I DO feel some emotion when playing, even when trying to copy Hank so if its there, its because I felt it. Thank you for noticing.
cheers

ps - I still have Flesh and Blood on my car player and a new track, The Promise has turned up on Soundcloud - Wonderful

Hi Ian,

Nice to hear James is settling in well!

It will take him quite a bit of travel to Penrith from Newtown. Oxley Park is much closer to Penrith.

A pleasure - you can tell the real thing... Attack of a note - whether soft or hard, clipped or clean - are one offs and can often give us away at that very moment... There is no such thing as perfect. You can really tell that you got 'lost' here (in the best sense). It is what makes music wonderful!

Thank you my friend - it has done over 1200 downloads on iTunes now - very humbled and surprised at its longevity....! The Promise is still unmixed really - in truth I had forgotten I had put it on there! It will probably make it to the new record - finished of course!!

Hope the hand is better - keep very well.

Hi Neil
Isn't it just!
As I said, I thought the original recording was too "smart-arsed" at the end and spoiled it.
The Cliff Hall arrangement for The Shads got them out of that "loop" neatly and melodically.
Cheers
