...pre-order... done!

Radio Luxembourg recordings, do you think?

All out of copyright, probably.

Who are "Smith & Co" record company?
"Teenage Love / Jean Dorothy" (Seberg perhaps?) was The Chesternuts, not the Shadows.
When are the LIVE recordings from - what Show?
A lot of tracks for not a lot of money - ideal for The Completist but is there really anything new in there??
cheers

Anyone can issue recordings that have been "out there" for 50 years.

You or I could release Apache by The Shadows tomorrow if we could be bothered.

You too can find out the answer, for about £8.50.

This from Bim Bam Records site

THE SHADOWS - JUST ABOUT AS GOOD AS IT GETS (NOTE: DUE JAN 2012 - ORDERS BEING TAKEN NOW!!)

(2 CD set, FANTASTIC 66 track set of all the early Shadows material. Includes tracks as The Drifters & The Five Chesternuts. Both rare Mono & Stereo masters are used plus LIVE AT THE COLOSSEUM - SOUTH AFRICA, LIVE AT ABBEY ROAD from the first Cliff Richard album 'Cliff', LIVE AT THE OLYMPIA - PARIS 1961, and LIVE at the BBC for SATURDAY CLUB - 1959. All the Columbia label released studio recordings from 1959 to 1961 are also included - AWONDERFUL SET OF THE EARLY ROCKIN' SHADOWS MATERIAL. Songs include: F.B.I, Shadoogie, The Stranger, Apache, Man Of Mystery, Baby My Heart, Kon-Tiki, Feelin' Fine, Bongo Blues, Driftin', Theme From Shane, Big Boy, Peace Pipe, Giant, Blue Star, Find Me A Golden Street, Lonesome Fella, Teenage Love, Jean Dorothy, Sleepwalk, Be-Bop- A-Lula, Guitar Boogie, Midnight, Shazam, Stranger On The Shore, Do You Want To Dance, The Frightend City, Saturday Dance, Back Home, All My Sorrows, See You In My Drums, Stand Up And Say That)

So looks like Paris Olympia and Saturday Club are new as far as official releases go

Smith & Co have released a few instro compilations in the last year or so.

Could SotS be from Paris Olympia '62 as it will feature Licorice on harmonica?

Very possibly. A high-quality recording is reputed to exist.

I really, really want this CD but i'm skint at the moment so i'll wait till it's been released.
Seems to be a lot of interesting stuff on there. I've never heard Jean Dorothy or Teenage Love before.
