Having listened to "Wonderful Land" in the priginal mono recording, with the tomtom overdub (hank you, Ivo Koers, for pointing this out), I think I prefer the later releases, with the overdub deleted. Without the tom, Wonderful Land is cleaner and more expressive and flowing, as the tom added an insistence and urgency to the tune that I thought wa distracting. My opinion only, and this could be because I know Wonderful Land without the overdub.

I prefer the original mono single version, as it's a classic. The first version or mix I heard of "Wonderful Land" was the first mock stereo mix, issued for the first time on the stereo issue of "The Shadows' Greatest Hits", which is of course an enhanced implementation of the mono mix.
