I came across this on YouTube. I’ve been searching without success for video footage of Licorice’s farewell appearance on ATV’s "Sunday Night at the London Palladium”. This is in sound only but brings back all the memories with good photographs which clearly identify the episode I remember watching all those years ago. In this we get Don't Talk to Him and Dancing Shoes. Either on this show or a very recent one beforehand the Shads did Shindig. Unfortunately the online SNATLP episode guide is deficient and I’ve not been able to trace the transmission date of that. Maybe someone else can?

Doesn't the YouTube poster indicate a date: 3rd November 1963?

Yes, this is definitely the 3rd Nov. The date I can’t trace is the one for the performance of
Shindig

Back the day - about 1963 - 1964 at a guess - my mum and dad recorded some Cliff and the Shadows and the Beatles off the TV with a reel to reel tape recorder. I remember hearing the tape(s) for the first time about 1977. Eventually I copied the Cliff and Shads stuff onto a cassette. No idea where that is now, but I'm sure we still have the reel to reel tape(s). One day I shall buy a new reel to reel machine and play them again! The tapes also include audio only recordings of things like UFO and Space: 1999, plus loads of TV themes from the 1970s. Haven't heard them in years. So glad that audio of these otherwise long lost TV broadcasts have survived.
