Gone way too soon. Tony was a fantastic drummer, arranger and producer. R.I.P. Tony.

Funnily enough i was playing The Shadows LP earlier which included his 'See you in my drums' and thinking what a great drummer he was.

This coincided with the North West Shadows do which we played at on the same weekend.
Tony will never be forgotten as he left a powerful legacy, never to be bettered.

Brian Bennett said Tony Meehan's drum solos were musical, you could almost sing them.

It's interesting you should say that Iain, because when I was just a kid I used to hum as much as I could remember of the solo.
It really was a catchy piece. Although I didn't take it personally when Tony Meehan left The Shadows I didn't like it that much and even less so when Jet Harris shot the gap either I might say.

"Tony was an interesting man even outside of his drummers spot in The Shadows, securing a place in the
British music industry that was both influential and legendary, to a degree and worth reading up on.
In the 1990s he quit the music industry and embarked on a major career change as a psychologist,
as a result of a lifelong interest.
He worked in London at a local college lecturing in psychology until his death in 2005 at age 62.
He was a regular churchgoer at his local Roman Catholic church in Maida Vale.
