Following on from the thread regarding Brian Lockings hospital stay, I found myself browsing Youtube for videos of Brian in his prime. On doing so, I happened upon this video of Brian, with Ian Purdon and others that will no doubt be known to forum members, jamming at the Warwick Shadows club.

What a stonking performance by all concerned. I'm not normally a fan of the harmonica, but I watched the video 3 times over back to back. It's wonderful stuff and well worth watching for those who've not already seen it. A bunch of talented musicians clearly enjoying themselves - a real joy to watch and listen to.

That was nice, sounding good rolling along like it did.
A fine example of refined White Man's blues.
But a happy musical jaunt nonetheless and great listening over a pint
and with good company.

Interesting! I've never thought of drummers being left or right handed, but I guess it must make a difference in terms of drum setup etc. By the way, who is playing lead? He does a great job .

I think you will find that the lead guitar is played by Ian McCutcheon ! not Ian Purdon.

Yes, I knew it wasn't Ian Purdon, he's playing bass, but didn't know who was playing lead - hence thequestion above . I've heard of Ian McCutcheon, ether from postings here, or possibly other Youtube vids - I'd love to be able to play like that. More practice required I think (much more!)

The reason Ringo Starr looked different from other drummers is that he was left handed but played a right handed drum kit.

Thanks for the kind words. Jamming with Licorice is always rewarding, he’s very good at directing the rest of us as we play so that it all hangs together well. Credit also to John ‘Cubbyhole’ Stallard for shooting the video, recording the sound and assembling the footage so effectively. The only thing missing - a title for the number!
